In my leadership journey I still find myself making mistakes. Fortunately I also find myself catching more and more of those mistakes before I actually make them.
So, while still not where I need to be… I’m making progress. 🙂
Once we make a mistake, then acknowledge it and mentally prepare for the next time an “opportunity” to do the same might occur, it allows us to interrupt that pattern and choose a different action.
The good news is that we can also learn from the mistakes we see other leaders make and mentally prepare ourselves for when that or a similar opportunity presents itself to us, as well.
What mistakes do you see leaders make that we can all be more consciously aware of, and prepare for, so that we’re less likely to make them ourselves?

The most humbling mistake I have made as a leader is when I tried to correct someone by saying “Don’t just give an empathy statement. Be empathetic.”
I was far from empathetic when I made this statement, myself.
Example is everything in Leadership and I was far from a good example, in this scenario.
It taught me a lot
John, thank you so much for sharing that with us! The fact that you would share that in order to add value to the rest of us displays your high level of leadership!
