Doing the right things in the right way doesn’t guarantee any specific result 100%… but it absolutely does create the “benevolent context” for your success.
Key Point: This includes providing immense value in the marketplace, dealing honestly with colleagues, customers, and suppliers, and communicating with others kindly, tactfully, and respectfully.
It also includes avoiding gossip, knowing your numbers (while putting people first), and continuing to learn, study, and grow both personally and professionally.
Indeed, there are never any guarantees. But doesn’t it just make sense that the more things you do correctly, the greater the chances are of attaining the results you desire?
Exercise: Make a list of all the things you feel that you should be doing (i.e., the right things in the right way) and ask yourself how you’re measuring up to that.
Good news both ways! Either you’re already on the right track (so keep doing what you’re doing!), or you now know what you need to do in order to *get on* that track.
