He was the second person I saw at the Boston event last Friday morning but, come to think of it, he was the very first one I saw actually in the meeting room itself; sitting in his chair, second row aisle.
He took notes the entire time during the presentation.
He was genuinely kind, friendly and gracious to all.
He was energetic and seemed to have a love for life itself.
He was — from what I heard from others — a legendary top producer in the real estate business, for many years with Century 21 and currently with RE/MAX Prestige.
Oh, and Juergen Keller is 86 years old. Or as he refers to himself, 86 years young.
A great attitude, arriving first, sitting right near the front, taking notes, eager to learn.
Funny thing is, I got the feeling he had more knowledge and wisdom in his little finger than I have in my entire body.
Hmmm, wonder how that happened.

P.S. It’s now four hours since I wrote the above. Guess what just arrived in the mail? Yes, a personalized note of thanks from Mr. Keller, hand-written in blue ink, exactly as I suggested in the seminar. I’m pretty sure I love this guy. 🙂

Thank YOU, Jay. And, it was terrific to see you there, as well. We appreciate the awesome Stacey Alcorn for holding the event!
What a joy! What I think is just as awesome as Juergen Keller, is the fact that you noticed him, took a picture with him and wrote this post about the experience. Usually it’s the audience who is learning. Thanks for sharing this, Bob. Truly inspirational.
Linda: Thank you. Very kind of you to say. Actually, one of the coolest aspects of my job is how much I get to learn from those in my audience. Mr. Keller was a prime example. And, you’re right…he was a joy!
Hey Bob, your winning attitude and genuine friendliness always reach your audiences, and inspire your listeners to take action. Keep up your good work, and continue to share your gems for success. I appreciate you.
Flo: Thank you, my friend. Great to hear from you, and I appreciate YOU!

Maria (Pili): Absolutely. And, it was SO great to have you there with us!
Rajib: LOL. And, he somehow did seem younger than all of us there! 🙂
Wonderful post Bob!.
I consider this to be one of those rare exceptions to the always/never rule.
School is NEVER out no matter how old we are. Always be teachable and ready to learn until our last breath.
: )
Samantha: What a great point you make. Very difficult to find an exception to this rule, isn’t it? Thank you, my friend!
Thanks, Bob! Your story started my day on a warm, fuzzy note. Wish I could have met him, too.
Most definitely 86 years YOUNG and wise beyond measure to know that life is meant to learn, play, and grow each and every day… God Bless this man and YOU for being such an AWESOME mentor. What a beautiful story. And… I Love the note with the BLUE ink.
I guess its true when they say ”You are never old enough to learn a thing or two.” and Mr keller is just an inspiration to many young people like me ,i thank you for sharing ,it is just awesome and fullfilling to see a 86 year old who is eager to learn ,it just gives me courage as a young person to want to learn even more .
John: Thank you. And, I’m very impressed that you – as a young person – were able to tap into Mr. Keller’s years of wisdom and utilize that for your own inspiration. Way to go!!
This discussion just came up in our office two days ago. “School’s Never Out For The Truly Successful”. In fact, school is never out for those who desire to living a full life. Mr. Juergen Keller is a perfect example of why saying, “I’m too old” is never an excuse for not following your dreams.
Thank you for sharing this, Bob. I’ll be sharing it with the office.
Phoenix: Thank you. And I agree with you on all counts. Glad you can share Mr. Keller’s wisdom with those in your office!
Lillian: Thank you. Much appreciated! 🙂
Carly: Thank you for your always very kind words. So glad you enjoyed the post!
Bob – I’m pretty sure I love this guy too! It is such an inspiration to see someone who, no matter how old they become, continue to embrace life so fully. There is always something wonderful to learn in this world. Mr Keller certainly knows this and does so with grace and kindness. Thanks so much for sharing.
Anita: My pleasure, and thank YOU for your kind words. And, you described him exactly as I saw him!
Just another exemplary human being in his sunset years who knows the secret to longevity … keep every muscle moving … including your brain!
Teri: Right on! Yes…Yes…and Yes!
It’s always encouraging to hear stories about those continuing to learn, even into not-so-young age.
Quick question, why blue ink instead of black or red or some other color?
Joseph: Thank you for your feedback on the post. In answer to your question, blue ink is less formal and friendlier; more in alignment with the intent and positioning of the note.
Classy, congruent credibility-building behaviors — just inspiring and thanks Bob – you go-giver for sharing this today
Kare: Thank you. Very kind! So glad you enjoyed Mr. Keller’s wisdom!
Thanks for answering my question Bob. I’d never thought of it in that light but I can see how it would be. Sometimes I’m amazed at the little nuances that we need to be aware of.
My pleasure, Joseph. Thank YOU.
