One of the most tremendous books I’ve ever read came across my desk recently. It’s entitled, BEING TREMENDOUS: The Life, Lessons, and Legacy of Charlie “Tremendous” Jones.
Much more than just a book, though, it’s the remembrance of the life of a great man (truly one of my heroes). It was edited and compiled by his daughter, Tracey, now President of Tremendous Life Books, a company her Dad founded many years ago out of his desire to equip and build people through books.
So, of course I asked Tracey if she would share some “Charlie Tremendous” stories from the book.
I loved our discussion; I hope you do, as well!
By the way, if you’re already a fan of Charlie Jones, you’ll learn some new things about him. You’ll also have access to a bunch of videos, both from the DVD included in the book, as well as lots of QR codes.
I can’t think of a nicer Holiday Gift, or a cooler book to have on your coffee table.

Bob,
I love your interviews! They are my favorite way to learn new things and to meet new people that are really special and that add so much value to our lives!
Here’s my favorite quote from him: “You are the same today that you are going to be in five years from now except for two things: the people with whom you associate and the books you read.” – Charlie “Tremendous” Jones
The interesting thing about your work on your blog is that you’re doing exactly that! Sharing books and introducing your audience to key people around the World.
Thank you,
Bruno Coelho
P.S: LOVED how you changed your goodbye signature at the end to honor Charlie!
“Make it a grreeee…. NO! Make it a TREMENDOUS day!” 😀
Bruno: Thank you for your kind feedback, for sharing the great quote by Charlie, and for noticing the changed ending. :-). You’re awes…no, you’re TREMENDOUS!
Wow! Thank you Bob for this tremendous interview. I used one of Charlie’s principles and bought 2 books – one to grow (for me) and one to sow (to give away). This book truly makes a great gift this holiday season.
Pastor Jim: Awesome. May you be doubly blessed!
Dear Tracey,
One of my favorite quotes your Dad blessed the world with is…
“Things don’t go wrong and break your heart so you can become bitter and give up. They happen to break you down and build you up so you can be all that you were intended to be.”
Your TREMENDOUS Dad was a personal friend Don Hill who is a valuable friend of mine.
I’m proud of you and I know your Papa is too, just looking down on you carrying on his legacy.
So from across the miles… I wish you health, happiness and harmony.
May your burdens be light and your blessings heavy!
Keep shining your light.
Bill: What a terrific note. I know that Tracey will enjoy that and be very blessed by it! And, I agree with you that her Dad is smiling down upon her, very proud of who she is and all she is doing; continuing his legacy of touching lives in a powerful, powerful way!
Tremendous Bruno, thanks so much for your comments and for your RT on twitter! Tremendous Jim, thanks so much for your comment and for your order! I just saw it come in. And Tremendous Bill, that quote is my favorite as well. I heard it over and over again growing up and I use it almost daily. Thanks to you and Don for being important to my father and for your encouragement and support!! And the biggest hug to Bob Burg for bringing all of us together!!
Tracey: TREMENDOUS hug back at ya’!!
Brother Bob, thanks for this wonderful treat. Two of my favorite folks — you and Tracey — sharing memories & stories of one my all time favorites Charley “Tremendous” Jones. What a Friday treat 🙂
-Josh

You could check into the hotel “tremendous”, but you could never check out! Once Charlie had you in one of is famous bear hugs and greeted you with that big smile and one of his legacy quips like” Where have you been all my life”, or “Ive been waiting all of my life to meet you” you were hooked. Bob, thank you for bringing this and Tracey to the attention of your readers and be blessed, just as you are a blessing.
